Hunting ice around Narvik
Back home from a great trip...
According to the weather forcasts before we started our trip I was a bit concerned what would await us this time in Norway. The weather models showed nothing good, it seemed that we would be in a huge storm over the whole two weeks with constant precipation. But mother nature was not that hard to us. The weather was a bit crazy, but we couls still climb more ice than ever before on such a trip. We had -37 °C and bright sunshine, frosty storm, extrem thawing with +9 °C, heavy rain and 200 km/h gale-forced winds. A good strategy was important to take the time by the forelock. I am glad that we succeded on this challenge. Some sunny spots we used perfectly for fotoshooting and with the first ascents of "Stalker" WI6/M7, 700m and "remember Mi" WI7-/M8, 100m, both climbed clean and on sight, Benni and I could make some important notes in our routebooks.
